Funding cuts aren’t just numbers. They’re lives.
Our 2024/25 IRISi Snapshot shows the impact of healthcare responses to domestic abuse and sexual violence:
7,124 referrals to IRIS
632 referrals to ADViSE
10,500+ healthcare professionals trained
These programmes are lifelines for survivors.
Despite this, across England & Wales nearly a third of IRIS provision has been lost, meaning 524,500 women who are survivors of domestic abuse no longer have access to specialist services via their GP.
Healthcare is often the first, and sometimes only place someone can speak out. But funding cuts and lost services mean too many survivors risk not being identified, referred, or supported.
“Behind every number is a life; a survivor finding courage, a professional ready to listen. Losing these services isn’t just statistics; it’s lives. We must protect what works.”
